Data Storage

Most of your data is stored locally on your device. Gameplay, scores, and quiz progress stay on your device unless you choose to send feedback or a bug report.

  • • Quiz sets are saved on your device
  • • Game scores and leaderboards are stored locally
  • • If you submit feedback or a bug report, your message, optional screenshots, and basic device information are sent securely (HTTPS) to quizketball.com. Submission is optional.

Optional data we receive

We only receive data when you choose to submit feedback or use certain optional features:

  • • Bug reports and feedback: your description, optional screenshots, device model, app version, and optional game context
  • • Speech-to-text (quiz editor): audio is processed by your device's speech service (Google or Apple)

Local multiplayer and devices

When you play with others on the same Wi‑Fi network or connect to a Quizketball board via Bluetooth, player names, scores, and game data are shared directly between devices. This traffic stays on your local network or Bluetooth connection and is not sent to our servers. Local multiplayer data is not encrypted in transit.

  • • Wi‑Fi multiplayer: data is exchanged over your local network (not encrypted)
  • • Bluetooth board: game commands are sent to nearby Quizketball devices (not encrypted)

Permissions

Bluetooth

Required to connect to Quizketball physical devices for gameplay.

Location (Android 11 and below)

Required for Bluetooth device scanning on older Android versions.

Microphone (Optional)

Required only if you use speech-to-text in the quiz editor.

Camera (Optional)

Used only when you scan a QR code to join a multiplayer game. Frames are processed on your device to read the code; we do not upload camera footage for advertising or analytics.

Our commitment

Quizketball is built with privacy in mind:

  • • Gameplay data stays on your device by default
  • • We do not track your usage or show advertising
  • • We do not sell your data
  • • Server contact is limited to optional bug reports and platform speech services
